The purpose of the Young Achiever Awards is to acknowledge,
encourage, reward and most importantly promote the positive
achievements of young Australians aged between 14 and 27
years.
Our marketing and promotional campaign utilises all areas of mass media, direct mail, government, corporate and community involvement.
The Awards are conducted on a state basis in Queensland,
Tasmania, South
Australia, and the Northern Territory.
- Acknowledge & highlight the achievements of young Australians.
- Educate the general public with examples of youth achievement.
- Encourage & motivate young Australians at all levels in their chosen field of endeavour.
- Develop a sense of pride in being an Australian.
- Build self-confidence through rewards for excellence.
- Provide role models & mentors for our youth by highlighting their achievements and the pursuit of excellence.
- Develop and encourage leadership and life skills in young Australians.

The awards recognise the achievements of youth in the following categories, they are:
*note: some states have additional category awards. Please
see your applicable state page for more information.
To enter the awards program you must first nominate during
the call for nomination phase. Each category has three finalists
selected with the winner announced at the Awards Gala Presentation
dinner. The evening culminates when one of the category
winners is announced as the overall state winner the Young
Achiever of the Year for their State or Territory.
All nominees for the program will receive a certificate of nomination! |
- To enter the Awards program you must first nominate during the call for nomination phase. Each category has three finalists selected with the winner announced at the Awards Gala Presentation Dinner. The evening culminates when one of the seven or eight category winners is announced as the Young Achiever of the Year for their State.
- Although all nominees of the program are invited to attend the Awards Gala Presentation Dinner, we request that finalists make every effort to attend. All nominees and finalists are encouraged to bring along family, friends and colleagues to share this special night with them.

Please address the General Criteria for all nominations and then the specific criteria for each category. You don’t have to address all of the criteria points these are just a guide to help you.
It is important that you try to keep to the guidelines

- Complete the official Nomination Form
- Review the General Criteria and Category Criteria detailed
- Using the Category Criteria determine the most suitable category (nominees may enter more than one category, however, we require a separate application for each)
- Prepare a summary of the nominee using the criteria
provided (up to 2,000 words) - included in this
summary should be a 100 word profile that can be
used for media purposes.
- Attach relevant newspaper articles, awards, certificates, photographs, etc
- Provide four recent, different, clear photographs
labelled with the nominee’s full name and
address
- Forward the original nomination and one A4 single-sided photocopy
- Nomination and contents will remain the property of the Young Achiever Awards Program and will not be returned

- Entry into the Young Achiever Awards is free and
open to all men and women between 14 and 27 years
of age
- Nominees must be Australian citizens and reside in the State / Territory of nomination for at least 2 years
- People currently residing outside of the State / Territory due to work or study commitments are still eligible to enter
- Nominations may only be made on the official form,
by mail, fax or e-mail. An original and one complete
copy should be forwarded with the nomination, along
with at least 4 different, clear good quality colour
photos and supporting material
- Applicants may nominate for more than one category if appropriate. Multiple nominations, however, must be submitted separately and each nomination must carry its own supporting material
- It is permissible to contact the Awards Office for guidance regarding compilation of nomination submissions
- All nomination information and material submitted remains the property of the Awards Australia office and will not be returned
- Nominees agree to make themselves available without cost for publicity purposes as required prior to and after the Awards Presentation
- Nominees agree to allow the use of their nomination information for publicity purposes
- Those selected as Finalists should be available to attend the Presentation Ceremony (inability to attend does not disqualify entry)
- The Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
