Entry Criteria:

Please address the General Criteria for all nominations and then the specific criteria for each category. You don’t have to address all of the criteria points these are just a guide to help you.

It is important that you try to keep to the guidelines of these criteria when completing your nomination.

General Criteria
· Academic achievements
· Personal goals and other achievements
· Degree of difficulty and sacrifices made to achieve, past and in the future
· Personal interests and involvement in the wider community
· Contribution and benefits to society
· Samples of press articles, awards, certificates, photos etc

The Northern Territory Government Career Achievement Award
· Career profile - work experience, strengths, career path - development plan
· Communication, marketing and management skills
· Position in work environment - industry background
· Creativity - innovation - entrepreneurial skills
· Responsibilities - support available
· Budget and staffing control - number of staff, skills etc
· Personal development - extracurricular activities
· Financial position of business
· Contribution to team management

The McArthur River Mining Regional and Rural Initiative Award
· Contribution to the regional and rural community – economic, social or environmental
· Contribution to the regional and rural economy – productivity, employment, now and in the future
· Initiative and innovation – planning, management, leadership
· Source of funding
· Individual or team effort
· Self-development
· Length of service

The Minister for Young Territorians Excellence in Youth Leadership Award
· Initiative and innovation in a leadership capacity
· Involvement in setting the direction of the group/organisation in which they have been involved
· Active effort in working toward the group’s goals with group members
· Training, support and encouragement of group members
· Commitment to their own personal development by participation in courses/forums/conventions and other training opportunities
· A worthwhile contribution to their community or the Territory

The Somerville Community Service Award
· Length of service in each area
· Who has benefited from service
· Barriers and how they have been overcome
· Range of groups and number of people involved
· Nature of your individual input
· Hours of unpaid voluntary work
· Contribution to lasting solutions

The Northern Territory Government Young Carer’s Award
· Commitment to caring for an elderly or disabled person
· Activities that benefit the disadvantaged
· Level of assistance required – bathing, travel requirements, banking
· Number of carers hours paid and/or unpaid
· Degree of time and effort of carers duties
· Contribution that carer makes to their local community
· Training, education and courses undertaken
· Degree of independence, health improvement, confidence and self worth of the elderly or disabled person

The Charles Darwin University Arts Award
· Commitment to personal development in the arts
· Prizes and Awards - local, national, international
· Performance / exhibition achievements
· Creativity and professional standards
· Samples of work and awards, where possible

The Power & Water Science and Engineering Award
· Goals and degree of difficulty in achieving
· Complexity of endeavour
· Inventiveness, ingenuity and entrepreneurial skills
· Scientific or engineering awards received (include samples if possible)
· Contribution to community, commercial application, or broader field of research

The Toll Marine Logistics & Toll Transitions Sports Award
· Career development - motivation, commitment, sacrifices, competitiveness & ability to achieve goals
· Athletic achievements - results on a local, national and international scale, samples where possible
· Vocational development - education, courses undertaken, work experience, part-time or full-time athlete, samples where possible
· Contribution to the community - impact on the community, coaching clinics attended, promotion of sport and associated groups

The ConocoPhillips Environment Award
· Current environmental impact on a local, national or world scale
· Impact on community behaviour
· Future impact on environmental preservation
· Source of funding
· Management and leadership skills
· Is this a solo or team effort
· Voluntary or paid involvement
· Achievements – past, current and future

Nomination Tips:
  1. Complete the official Nomination Form

  2. Review the General Criteria and Category Criteria detailed

  3. Using the Category Criteria determine the most suitable category (nominees may enter more than one category, however, we require a separate application for each)

  4. Prepare a summary of the nominee using the criteria provided (up to 2,000 words) - included in this summary should be a 100 word profile that can be used for media purposes.

  5. Attach relevant newspaper articles, awards, certificates, photographs, etc

  6. Provide four recent, different, clear photographs labelled with the nominee’s full name and address

  7. Forward the original nomination and one A4 single-sided photocopy

  8. Nomination and contents will remain the property of the Young Achiever Awards Program and will not be returned

Conditions of Entry:

  1. Nomination must be completed on the official application forms.

  2. Nominations much address the criteria for the relevant award category. This information must be relevant to the last 12 months.

  3. Nominees may apply for more than one category; however a separate nomination must be submitted for each category.

  4. Provide relevant newspaper articles, awards, certificates not older than 12 months.

  5. Provide 4-6 clear photographs emailed to: info@awardsaustralia.com

  6. Nominations and contents will remain the property of Awards Australia and will not be returned.

  7. Entry is free and open to individuals, businesses, groups or organisations according to population and community size.

  8. Entrants must be Australian citizens, organisations or companies.

  9. Entrants must reside in regional areas within the state of nomination. Excluding metropolitan areas and have done so for a minimum of two years.

  10. Entries must show achievements with positive outcomes for regional and rural areas.

  11. Judges will select three category finalists and one category winner for each category. The judge’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

  12. Entrants must agree to any local, station or national marketing and media publicity.

  13. Finalists are required to attend the Gala Dinner Awards Presentation ceremony.

  14. Sponsors are ineligible to enter.

  15. Submissions must be received prior to the state nomination closing date by 5pm.
