NEW SOUTH WALES

NSW/ACT Young Achiever Awards

Patron’s Message

Our young achievers never cease to amaze me; from those who excel in their chosen vocation to others who decide their calling is to serve their community.

It is a great privilege for me as patron to oversee the NSW/ACT Young Achiever Awards where we have the opportunity to acknowledge, and quite rightly, celebrate the achievements of our young stars across social and professional ranks
As a government it is an imperative that we provide support, moreover, incentives for our future generations.

I’m proud to say that the NSW Liberals-Nationals Government has a range of programs to assist young people in developing the necessary skills for their chosen career paths or involvement within the local communities, right across this great State.

Among my greatest pleasures as Deputy Premier and Leader of the NSW Nationals is having the opportunity to meet and chat with young people at their work or place of study, and who are already making a significant contribution to the community.

To see the unbridled joy of an apprentice working on a major project or someone who is now able to chase their dream because of much-needed support reminds me of one of the main reasons why I decided to enter politics in the first place – to make a difference.

Young achievers who are being honoured today are doing exactly that, they are making a difference.

The unique contribution of these young people is an inspiration to us all and I thank them, and congratulate them.

You deserve to celebrate this moment and use it as a launching pad for remarkable achievements which await you in the years to come.

Hearty congratulations to you all – may there be many more.

The Hon. John Barilaro, MP
NSW Deputy Premier
